Renowned former Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Richmond Webb has shared exciting news for fans: he will be the voice behind the Dolphins’ second-round selection in the 2024 NFL Draft.

At 57, Webb brings a storied career to the announcement, having been a distinguished top 10 pick back in the 1990 draft. Over his career, primarily spent guarding the flank for legendary quarterback Dan Marino in Miami, Webb’s impact on the field was monumental.

After contributing significantly to the Dolphins for a decade, he rounded off his career with a two-season stint with the Cincinnati Bengals. Webb’s legacy includes seven appearances at the Pro Bowl and honor as a member of the 1990s All-Decade Team by the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Webb took to Twitter to share the news, showcasing his excitement with a message that read, “Hey Sis. I will be announcing the 2nd round pick. ” — a post that was warmly received by fans and followers.

Despite the accolades, the Hall of Fame still eludes Webb, as he has yet to even reach the semifinalist stage for induction, which many consider an oversight given his contributions to the game.

The 2024 draft won’t mark Webb’s debut in announcing Dolphins draft picks; he previously shared the spotlight in Nashville, Tenn. in 2019 with then-Dolphins’ Kenyan Drake to announce the team’s third-round pick, offensive lineman Michael Deiter.

As the draft approaches, the Dolphins are set to make their second-round pick at No. 55 overall. Unless trades alter the landscape, this selection will mark the team’s final choice until their fifth-round pick, No. 158 overall. Webb’s announcement will undoubtedly add a layer of historic significance and enthusiasm to the event for Dolphins’ fans and players alike.
