Mohamed Kamara, the recent acquisition by the Miami Dolphins, is brimming with motivation and a bit of resentment after slipping to the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

“I’m amped up and ready, but at the same time, I’m quite aggrieved I wasn’t chosen earlier,” Kamara expressed to the media this past Saturday. “It’s inherent in who I am.

I believed I deserved to go sooner, and though I’m thrilled that Miami saw my worth, it’s only added fuel to the fire. I’ve always played with a chip on my shoulder, and it’s only grown bigger now.”

Over his final three seasons as a standout at Colorado State, Kamara left little doubt about his prowess on the field, amassing an impressive 29 sacks and 42.5 tackles for loss. His remarkable performance in 2023 earned him the title of Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year.

Despite such stellar statistics, Kamara had to wait until the No. 158 pick to finally get his call to the pros.

His height, at 6’1″, likely contributed to the skepticism from NFL teams regarding his fit as a pass rusher at the professional level.

Kamara, undeterred by the doubts cast over him due to his frame, issued a warning to the skeptics. “Call me short if you want, just be ready for what comes next,” Kamara stated confidently.

“Doubt fuels me. I’m relentless, and satisfaction is a stranger to me.”

Joining the Dolphins places Kamara in a competitive landscape for pass rushers, amidst established talents like Bradley Chubb, Jaelan Phillips, and Shaquil Barrett, not to mention 2024’s first-rounder Chop Robinson. However, Kamara’s self-assurance remains unshaken. He vows to prove his skeptics wrong and make an impact that will have all teams that overlooked him regretting their decision.

Kamara’s parting shot to the rest of the league was a mix of gratitude toward Miami and a bold challenge to anyone else. “To the 31 other teams, you’ve been warned.

My performance will make it clear you should’ve picked me sooner. I’m grateful to Miami, but ready to show the NFL exactly what they missed,” Kamara declared.
