Miami Dolphins’ Delay on Jaylen Waddle’s Contract Extension Raises Questions

In the 2023 season, Waddle recorded 72 receptions for 1,014 yards and four touchdowns. When compared to Collins’ stats of 80 receptions for 1,297 yards and eight touchdowns last season, Waddle’s overall contribution to the Dolphins over their careers tilts in his favor, with Waddle amassing 100 more receptions, seven more touchdowns, and over 1,000 more receiving yards in total.
Waddle’s extension remains a priority for a Dolphins team that has seen other receivers like Amon-Ra St. Brown and A.J.
Brown secure their future with their respective teams. With the Dolphins having picked up Waddle’s fifth-year option at the end of April, the window for an extension is still open but is perceived to be closing fast.
