Is Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill the Madden NFL 2025 cover athlete?

Later today, EA Sports will reveal the cover athlete for Madden NFL 2025, and the player lucky (or unlucky) enough to grace the cover remains a mystery. Earlier in the week, rumors started swirling that Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow would be on the cover after a photo of Madden 2025’s cover leaked on gamestop.com.

Many have also speculated that it could be San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey after breaking down a recent video that EA Sports posted on the publisher’s official Twitter account.

But if you ask me, I think the cover athlete should be none other than superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill.

I mean, how cool would it be for a Miami Dolphins player to be on the cover of Madden after all these years? Yes, I absolutely believe the Madden Curse is real — but so what?!?! The curse of the Tequesta continues to linger, and Miami hasn’t won a playoff game in 24 years, so I don’t think having a superstar player on the cover of a video game can make things any worse.

Another reason I think Hill would be the perfect candidate is because his playstyle is straight out of a video game. He’s the most explosive playmaker in football. Period. He’s a unicorn, and there may never be another player like him. (Or maybe there will be: See: Jaylen Waddle) In 2023, Hill finished the year with 1,799 yards and 13 touchdowns on 119 receptions. His nine plays of 40+ yards or more were the most in football.

Additionally, Mike McDaniel’s offense—ironically enough, it is starting to look like a real-life Madden Ultimate Team—has begun to change how teams use motion pre-snap to pin defenses back on their toes. Adding some of the new motions and different plays that teams like the Dolphins, 49ers, Eagles, Chiefs, and other prolific offenses use could quickly be wrapped as a new game mode.

Oh, and let’s not forget Hill was rated a 99 overall in Madden 2024. He’s one of only a handful of players in the exclusive 99-Club. Pair that with his love for video games and the Madden franchise, and I think we found ourselves the perfect cover athlete.

Then again, maybe it would be better if it was Joe Burrow. Just in case the Madden curse is real.

Christian McCaffrey is officially the Madden 25 Cover Athlete

Who do you want to see on the cover of Madden NFL 2025? Would you like to see Tyreek Hill or another Dolphins player front and center? Do you believe in the Madden Curse? Does any of this matter?!?! Let us know in the comments section below!
