As the 2024 NFL season begins, pundits from across the nation are divided on their forecasts for the Miami Dolphins. On NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football,” Jamie Erdahl tipped the Dolphins to top their division, whereas Peter Schrager didn’t think they’d make the playoffs. Meanwhile, Rich Eisen and his team on the “Rich Eisen Show” also backed the Dolphins to win the division. Eisen expressed optimism about the team’s prospects, highlighting their speed.

Contrarily, NFL Analyst Nick Wright is skeptical about the Dolphins’ playoff chances, betting on them to not make the postseason, grouped with the Jets and Eagles in his predictions. Over at the “Up & Adams Show,” Kay Adams believes the Dolphins will end their 24-year playoff victory drought by winning in the first round of the playoffs.

Sports Illustrated’s Conor Orr is less optimistic, predicting a just-above-break-even season (9-8) for the Dolphins and expecting them to miss the playoffs. He foresees a strong start with four initial wins, followed by losses in cold-weather games and across three of their last four matches, continuing what he calls a ‘December Demise’. Orr also criticized the Dolphins’ offseason moves, particularly in defensive coordination.

Colleagues at Sports Illustrated’s Monday Morning Quarterback were more favorable, with several seeing the Dolphins winning the AFC East or entering as a wildcard. Notably, Albert Breer predicts a wildcard spot for Miami and a playoff loss against the AFC East champ New York Jets. Other predictions from SI include Miami falling in the playoffs at hands of teams like Baltimore, Jacksonville, or Houston.

Tyler Sullivan of CBS Sports foresees the Dolphins finishing third in their division, attributing their inability to perform in cold climates late in the season as a significant factor working against their playoff aspirations.
