There is growing hope within the Miami Dolphins organization that running back De’Von Achane will be ready to play in their Thursday night matchup against the Buffalo Bills. While his status remains a game-time decision, the possibility of his return is a positive sign for the Dolphins.

In related news, running back Raheem Mostert, who also left Sunday’s game with an injury, is not expected to miss significant time and will avoid a trip to injured reserve. His return is anticipated to be “sooner rather than later.”

Raheem Mostert has been ruled OUT for Thursday Night Football. @profootballdoc expects him to miss next week as well but avoid IR.

Mostert’s injury is expected to sideline him for an extended period, according to a medical expert.

With lead back De’Von Achane’s status uncertain due to a sprained ankle, the Miami Dolphins might have to lean on rookie Jaylen Wright and veteran Jeff Wilson Jr. to handle the rushing workload against the Buffalo Bills’ formidable defensive front, led by standout Greg Rousseau. Achane, coming off an 800-yard season, had a quiet outing in Week 1 against Jacksonville, managing just 24 rushing yards despite finding the endzone on a 1-yard plunge.

He did, however, showcase his versatility by tying Tyreek Hill for a team-high seven receptions, racking up 70 receiving yards. Following their Thursday night clash with the Bills, the Dolphins will head west for a Week 3 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.
