The Miami Dolphins suffered a tough 24-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. With starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa out, backup Skylar Thompson was injured during the game and replaced by Tim Boyle. It remains to be seen who will start in Tagovailoa’s place against the Tennessee Titans.

There’s a case to be made that recent acquisition Tyler Huntley should get the start. While Boyle is a capable backup, the Dolphins offense has struggled to score points, going scoreless in the last seven quarters. Huntley’s athleticism and mobility could provide a much-needed spark.

Head Coach Mike McDaniel is facing scrutiny as the Dolphins offense has sputtered. With Tagovailoa sidelined, McDaniel needs to find ways to generate points. A more dynamic rushing attack, aggressive fourth-down play-calling, and creative offensive schemes, such as direct snaps and trick plays, could jumpstart the offense.

The offensive line has been a mixed bag this season. While expectations weren’t particularly high entering the season, especially at the guard position, the unit’s performance has been inconsistent. Terron Armstead, a standout left tackle when healthy, left the game due to injury, highlighting the line’s fragility.

On a positive note, new defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver has made an encouraging start. Despite a couple of big plays surrendered, the defense has been solid, particularly in the second half of games. There’s room for improvement, but the defense has shown promise.

The Dolphins need their leaders to step up during this challenging stretch. Veteran players like Tyreek Hill, Jalen Ramsey, and Calais Campbell, along with Armstead when healthy, need to provide leadership and guidance to help right the ship. McDaniel will rely on these players to help maintain a cohesive and focused locker room.
