Derrick Henry is in great form, and the Baltimore Ravens are finding their groove again after a tough start by focusing on running the ball frequently.

Henry’s impressive 87-yard touchdown on Sunday night helped the Ravens to a 35-10 victory over the Buffalo Bills, marking their second straight win and bringing their record back to .500.

Along with running back Justice Hill and quarterback Lamar Jackson, Henry contributed to a total of 271 rushing yards, helping to restore Baltimore’s running identity just when they needed it most.

“That’s kind of always what we’ve been about,” coach John Harbaugh said. “Running the ball and playing great defense. … The run game is massively important to us.”

Henry, who weighs 247 pounds and joined the Ravens from Tennessee in free agency, is proving to be a reliable option for Jackson.

While the first two games had mixed results, the last two have shown the benefits of having Henry on the team.

The 30-year-old followed up a strong performance of 151 yards and two touchdowns at Dallas with 199 rushing yards against Buffalo. He also caught a touchdown pass, which was his first since 2019, and is adjusting well to the Ravens’ offense.

“Everybody’s blocking,” Henry said, who has had 49 carries over the past two weeks. “Everybody’s just being unselfish for me to have success, and I want to do the same for those guys.”

Henry dominated against the Bills even with a struggling offensive line that was missing starting left guard Andrew Vorhees. Right tackle Patrick Mekari moved to that position, and rookie Roger Rosengarten made his first start, but Henry and the Ravens didn’t skip a beat.
