Tua Tagovailoa isn’t throwing in the towel just yet, even if Miami Dolphins fans are struggling to see the light at the end of the tunnel this season. Sitting at 2-5 after a tough late-game loss to Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals, all Miami can really do now is potentially disrupt their future draft spot.

With the formidable Buffalo Bills on the horizon, Dolphins fans are beyond needing motivational speeches—they want tangible results. And right now, those results seem elusive during crucial moments on the field.

Yet, the Dolphins’ loss to the Cardinals doesn’t mathematically knock them out of playoff contention, and Tua was firm about that in his post-game remarks. “There’s always time.

Seventeen games is a long time,” Tagovailoa emphasized. Reflecting on a similar past challenge, he recalled a time of starting 1-7: “We didn’t have half the guys that we have now—and no disrespect to my other teammates—but I’m talking about the talent here.

We didn’t have half that talent.”

Tua pulled from memory, pointing back to the 2021 campaign when Miami surged with eight wins from their last nine games, flipping a 1-7 start to finish at 9-8—though it still wasn’t quite enough to clinch a playoff berth. His message was clear: while he’s not predicting an exact replay, he believes a spark is possible. “Anything is possible,” he echoed, underlining a belief in potential against the odds.

For Dolphins faithful, though, the narrative may feel too familiar. Tagovailoa’s return was supposed to ignite a change, but the desired momentum seems out of reach. While no one realistically expects the team to stop fighting or competing on the field, the collective energy could shift if this pattern continues.

Sunday’s game featured its share of missed chances, culminating in a critical moment when, leading by nine points late, Miami conceded a two-point safety. This slip allowed the Cardinals to trim the lead to seven, a window they capitalized on. Unfortunately for the Dolphins, it was a window they couldn’t frame to their advantage.
