The NFL has spotlighted its heart and soul with the announcement of the nominees for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award. For the Miami Dolphins, Alec Ingold has again claimed this honor, marking the second year in a row. This award isn’t just about statistics and on-field heroics; it’s about those who shine just as brightly in the community as they do under the stadium lights.

Alec Ingold’s reaction to this recognition is as humble as it gets. “Bigger than football. Humbled and honored,” he shared on social media, echoing his dedication to making a difference where it counts.

Miami Dolphins General Manager Chris Grier couldn’t hold back his pride, noting, “Alec is the kind of player every team hopes to have—not only for his on-field abilities but for his unwavering commitment off the field. His journey is inspiring, touching lives through his stories and actions. Alec’s impact is a legacy that’s built to last, well beyond his football years.”

The Dolphins have a proud history with this award, with legends like Dwight Stephenson, Dan Marino, and Jason Taylor having won it in the past.

But what is it about Ingold that sets him apart? It’s his relentless dedication to his community work.

Fueled by his own personal adoption story, Ingold has made it his mission to support children in the welfare system. Since founding the Ingold Family Foundation in 2022, he has been a beacon of hope for many, fostering educational and professional growth in the community.

His book “The 7 Crucibles,” published in 2023, is not just a testament to personal adversity but a tool he’s adapted into educational curricula. Utilized across Broward County Public Schools, these teachings are reaching over 17,000 student-athletes, helping them navigate their challenges.

Ingold’s foundation doesn’t just stop at education—it also enhances lives with programs ranging from financial literacy camps to fostering physical well-being through football and athletic activities. He’s also been a cornerstone for the SOS Children’s Villages Florida, a foster care community, where his “Gifts In Gold” initiative funds essential projects like a new playground, a source of joy for countless children.

Remember, Ingold is no stranger to this accolade; he first earned his team’s nomination as a Raider in 2020 and again with the Dolphins last year. His prowess on the field is equally impressive, having made his Pro Bowl debut in 2023 while playing a pivotal role in an offensive unit that led the league after a three-decade gap.

As a nominee, Ingold is set to receive up to $55,000 for his charity, with the award winner walking away with up to $265,000 from the NFL and Nationwide Foundations. All 32 NFL nominees will be honored during the build-up to Super Bowl LIX, with the announcement of the award winner happening at the NFL Honors ceremony on February 6, broadcasted on FOX and the NFL Network.

Fan involvement is once again front and center through Nationwide’s Charity Challenge. Supporters can rally behind their favorite nominee in this social media and online challenge, boosting their chances to win additional charitable donations.

As the NFL steams ahead into Week 14, watch for the special helmet decal that all nominees, including Ingold, will wear, paying tribute to their impactful contributions on and off the gridiron.
