Los Angeles Lakers’ new star Luka Doncic responds to Austin Reaves’ praise for his performance against the New York Knicks in the NBA.

Los Angeles Lakers secured a hard-fought 113-109 victory over the New York Knicks, led by standout performances from Luka Doncic and LeBron James. Following the game, Austin Reaves, who returned to the lineup after missing two contests with a calf injury, shared his thoughts on Doncic’s impact since joining the team.
Speaking to reporters after the win, Reaves highlighted Doncic’s competitive nature and how seamlessly he has adapted to the Lakers’ system.
“The one thing that I think everybody knows about Luka is he’s a killer. At the end of the day, he just wants to win,” Reaves said. “I’ve been able to watch him for a long time in this league. That was one thing I was really excited about—teaming up with him.”
Reaves also emphasized Doncic’s ability to elevate those around him. “When you put a guy like that on your team, obviously everybody knows how skilled he is and how he makes the game easier for everyone else,” he continued. “It’s great to have him on our team. I feel like he’s fit in perfectly. I’m really happy to have him, and I can’t wait to continue growing with him.”

Doncic responds to Reaves’ praise
Doncic, who posted another impressive stat line, has been a force since arriving in Los Angeles. In his first ten games as a Laker, the four-time All-Star has averaged 23.8 points, 8.1 rebounds, 8.1 assists, and 1.9 steals, shooting 40% from the field, 30.5% from three, and 73.5% from the free-throw line.
After the game, Doncic spoke about his growing chemistry with his new teammates. “Just the chemistry. I think everybody gets along, and that’s really important,” Doncic said. “They’re well-connected. Obviously, there’s room for improvement, but I think we are all on the same page. I’m excited to be a part of this team.”
The Lakers continue to build momentum with Doncic in the mix, proving that their new star is already making a significant impact in the playoffs run for the NBA.
