Steelers Fans Saying Same Thing About George Pickens’ Latest Comments

Pittsburgh Steelers fans can only laugh at Dallas Cowboys receiver George Pickens after he commented on the cultural differences between both organizations.

Mama, there goes that man again.

Dallas Cowboys receiver George Pickens has had a star on his helmet for all of two weeks and is making headlines for what he had to say about the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Since being traded for a 2026 third-round pick and a 2027 Day 3 pick swap, Pickens has gotten acclimated with the Cowboys. He’s impressing head coach Brian Schottenheimer, getting to know quarterback Dak Prescott, and getting used to life on one of the few teams with a bigger spotlight than Pittsburgh.

Steelers fans are saying the same thing about Pickens’ latest comments, taking his compliment for Dallas as a shot at Pittsburgh.

“It’s super refreshing to be with a different culture,” Pickens told reporters on Wednesday.

The Steelers and Cowboys, from afar, look to be on opposite ends of the cultural spectrum. The shadow of Dallas owner Jerry Jones encapsulates the entire organization, inviting storylines, stars, and attention from every inch of the football world. Pittsburgh, meanwhile, is respected for its consistency. The Steelers have had three coaches since the moon landing and haven’t gone under .500 with head coach Mike Tomlin calling the shots.

Both teams have fared similarly in recent years. Since 2020, Pittsburgh has won 50 games; Dallas has won 49.

America’s Team, with Prescott under center, is certainly in a better position to compete for a championship. Pickens is an ideal stylistic fit with receiver CeeDee Lamb. But fans have grown all too familiar with Cowboys teams falling short of their collective talent. Perhaps that is a cultural issue in itself.

Pickens may very well find success in Dallas. He’s incredibly talented, and a change of scenery can be helpful. He is entering a contract year, and the same culture that he criticized is part of the reason why that second contract wasn’t coming from Pittsburgh.

The Steelers came to the conclusion that Pickens wasn’t the right fit for the receiver room and the locker room. They got ahead of the issue and got good value for him, even if it hurts their 2025 chances. Maybe that’s the best for both sides. In the interim, the Pittsburgh faithful will warm up to his replacement, DK Metcalf, and hope that the next big-bodied star on the perimeter doesn’t end with half-baked insults from another team’s offseason training activities.
