LeBron James might be enjoying his offseason with family and friends. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar is watching the NBA, WNBA, and other sports from home and posting timely social media posts about one or the other.
He has watched Caitlin Clark dominate in the WNBA and Tyrese Haliburton deliver stunners to the New York Knicks. But something happened across the pond during a soccer title celebration that caught the attention of the NBA’s all-time leading scorer.
A minivan was caught up between the Liverpool FC fans celebrating their 2024-25 title win. After not being able to get a clear path, the driver started bumping some of those fans to move them out of his way. When some of them retaliated by hitting his car and vandalizing it, the driver, now enraged, plowed into them at speed.
Footage on social media shows the minivan intentionally swerving to hit a group of revelers, backing out, and continuing to do so on the other side of the street. Finally, a group of police officers managed to stop the car as a fan was stuck underneath. James took to social media to send prayers to those who were injured.

The 40-year-old usually uses his platform to call out such senseless acts of violence. This time, it was his team’s supporters who were affected. In the midst of a celebration, this was the last thing he or even the fans expected.
Liverpool FC gives LeBron James something to cheer about after disappointing end to Lakers’ season
LeBron James would have preferred if he were still being broadcast on national television, battling in the playoffs. That was the goal the Los Angeles Lakers had after their stellar run to finish third in the West. But their 1st round playoff exit at the hands of Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves ended those hopes.

But thankfully, Liverpool FC, in which he is a part-owner, won the 2024-25 English Premier League title in dominating fashion. Last season was a close fight, but this time around, they ensured they had their foot on the gas pedal all throughout the season to dethrone four-time defending champions Manchester City.
This will be the second title James adds to his resume as an owner after Liverpool won the 2019-20 Premier League title as well. It seems the father of three is tasting success in anything and everything he has his hands on.
Lakers will need reinforcements if LeBron James wants to win 5th title before retiring
LeBron James is fully embracing his life as a father, watching both his children and his investments grow. But he is also the ultimate competitor who wants to keep winning until he hangs up his sneakers. With that in mind, the onus is on the Los Angeles Lakers to help him win a fifth title before he retires.
The Minnesota Timberwolves exposed the Lakers’ roster issues in the first round. The lack of a big man was telling, but so was the need for a deep bench that can relieve some pressure off the starters. Those starters were exhausted after head coach JJ Redick played them excessive minutes.
It seems as if the first-year head coach did not trust some of the players on the bench. If that were true, then GM Rob Pelinka would need to find players whom he can trust. Else, no matter how good they are in the regular season, they will struggle to finish the deal in the playoffs.
