In a major shake-up just ahead of the NBA offseason, former Sixth Man of the Year Jordan Clarkson has reportedly expressed his desire to part ways with the Utah Jazz, stating that he no longer wishes to play for the team. According to sources close to the player, Clarkson is “inclined to move to the Los Angeles Lakers” this summer, marking a potential return to the franchise where his NBA career began.

Chiefs Rookie Praises Andy Reid’s Tough Approach: ‘He’s Keeping Toxic Culture Out of Kansas City’

Clarkson, 33, has been a consistent scoring threat off the bench and a key figure in Utah’s rotation since joining the team in 2019. He won the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award in 2021, praised for his instant offense and fearless shot-making. However, recent reports suggest that the veteran guard is looking for a new chapter—possibly one that brings him back to Hollywood.

“I’ve done my time here and I’ve loved my journey with the Jazz,” Clarkson reportedly told a close associate. “But I’m ready for something new. Going back to LA, to where it all started, that would be special.”

The Los Angeles Lakers, meanwhile, are expected to be active in the offseason as they retool around stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Clarkson, known for his scoring punch and energy, could provide the kind of bench production the Lakers have lacked in recent playoff runs.

While no formal trade or signing has been announced, Clarkson’s comments have already sparked speculation around the league. The Jazz, entering a rebuilding phase under head coach Will Hardy, may look to move Clarkson in exchange for draft assets or younger talent.

With free agency looming, all eyes will be on how the situation unfolds. Should a deal materialize, Clarkson’s return to the Lakers would not only be a full-circle moment but also a strategic move for a franchise aiming to stay competitive in the Western Conference.
