The Los Angeles Lakers made another roster move on Wednesday.

The organization officially re-signed a 7-foot-1 center to assist their newly-added center, Deandre Ayton, in the low-post next season.

“Lakers make the (two-way) signing of Christian Koloko official,” Lakers Nation’s Trevor Lane wrote on X/Twitter while including a visual aid (press release).

Koloko wasn’t a significant factor for the Lakers last season, averaging only 2.4 points and 2.5 rebounds per game in 37 appearances.

Still, the Summer League provided the Arizona product with a golden opportunity to convince the organization to stick with him.

Although the Lakers finished the NBA 2K26 Summer League in Las Vegas with a dismal 1-4 record, Koloko played well when on the hardwood.

The former Toronto Raptors big man flashed potential as an energetic rim protector and pick-and-roll finisher.

Koloko played his best basketball against the Boston Celtics, recording 12 points, six rebounds, and six blocks in Los Angeles’ 87-78 loss.

For the event, Koloko contributed 7.2 points, four rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game in 17.2 minutes, shooting 57.7% from the field in five contests.

To be clear, Ayton and Jaxson Hayes are the Lakers’ top-2 frontcourt options heading into the 2025-26 campaign.

That said, Koloko, whose two-way contract only allows him to participate in 50 games maximum, could offer serviceable contributions on both ends of the floor in a limited role.
