The Miami Dolphins are banking on having a three-headed monster in terms of their pass rush with Bradley Chubb, Chop Robinson, and Jaelan Phillips. It would be a nice change of pace, as Chubb and Phillips both missed most of the 2024 season due to injuries.

Regarding Phillips, the star linebacker has had two-season ending injuries in back-to-back seasons. In 2023, he suffered a torn Achilles, only to return in 2024 and suffer a torn ACL.

Phillips has not been able to be on the field, playing only 12 games in the last two seasons. Now, the star pass rusher has suffered another concerning injury.

Per multiple reports, Phillips was on the ground and had to be attended to by trainers. He was able to get up and give a thumbs-up to fans watching, but it appeared to be an injury to his left knee.

Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald offered more details, stating that Phillips attempted to jog following the injury, but was in too much discomfort. He then went to work with trainers and sat on the team cooler, before walking gingerly to the team facility.

Losing Phillips would be horrible for his future with the Dolphins and the 2025 plans. The defender is set to become an unrestricted free agent in 2026, and another major injury would likely lead the team to move on.

Miami is also banking heavily on Phillips being available and on the field for the 2025 season to create a very scary pass rush with the aforementioned Chubb and Robinson.

Chubb missed the entire 2024 season after suffering a torn ACL during Week 17 of the 2023 season.

When Chubb and Phillips are on the field together, they form a troublesome duo for opposing offenses to deal with. The issue is that the pair has not been healthy. The hope is that Phillips only suffered a minor injury, and he will make it back to the field during training camp. The worst-case scenario would obviously be missing the entire 2025 season.

Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel will offer more updates as they come, but there is no details yet on the severity of Phillips’ injury.
