Miami Dolphins sign another former Buffalo Bills defensive back originally appeared on The Sporting News
The Buffalo Bills traded for Rasul Douglas back in 2023 ahead of the trade deadline, and he instantly became one of their top defenders. The former Green Bay Packer picked off four passes down the stretch for the Bills and was the No. 2 cornerback opposite Christian Benford.
Buffalo didn’t bring back Douglas this offseason, and he remained a free agent throughout training camp and the preseason. However, he has now signed with a team after over five months of waiting.
Douglas is signing a contract with the Miami Dolphins, per Jordan Schultz.
“The Dolphins are signing former Bills CB Rasul Douglas to a $3M deal, per sources,” Schultz reports. “A strong veteran addition — Douglas has 19 career INTs, 79 PBUs and three pick-sixes.”
This comes after Douglas reportedly turned down a contract offer from the Dolphins earlier this offseason.
“I’m also told free agent cornerback Rasul Douglas didn’t move on an offer from the Miami Dolphins Thursday,” Josina Anderson posted on X. “Douglas continues to field interest from multiple teams, per league source.”
Douglas is now the second member of the Bills’ secondary in as many years to sign a deal with the Dolphins. Former Bills safety Jordan Poyer signed a one-year deal with Miami last offseason.
