Mostert, who is 31 years old, is fresh off his best NFL season yet, earning his first Pro Bowl selection. He achieved this by rushing for a career-high of 1,012 yards, setting a Dolphins franchise record with 21 total touchdowns, which is three more than receiver Mark Clayton managed in 1984.

According to reports from NFL Network, his new contract could be worth up to $9.075 million. Mostert’s journey in the NFL has seen him play for four different teams in his first two seasons before finding a home with the San Francisco 49ers in 2016.

After spending six seasons with the 49ers, including a Super Bowl appearance in 2019, Mostert followed coach Mike McDaniel to Miami on a one-year deal. During this time, he has enjoyed the most productive years of his career.

In the 2022 season, Mostert led Miami in rushing with 891 yards. He continued his success in 2023, becoming the Dolphins’ first 1,000-yard rusher since Jay Ajayi achieved the feat with 1,272 yards in 2016. Additionally, Mostert is the first player in his 30s to rush for over 1,000 yards since Adrian Peterson accomplished it with Washington in 2018 at the age of 33.
