Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes continues to host teammates in Texas for workouts and throwing sessions ahead of the official start of the 2024 NFL offseason program.

Several players have been spotted working with Mahomes and company in Texas over the past two weeks. The latest to join the group of players is international rugby star Louis Rees-Zammit, who signed in Kansas City to play an offensive weapon and special teams role.
APEC’s Bobby Stroupe, Mahomes’ longtime trainer, posted a group photo of everyone getting work in together on Friday. The group included a trio of Chiefs QBs, Patrick Mahomes, Chris Oladokun, and Ian Book. Several pass-catchers, TE Noah Gray, and WRs Skyy Moore, Anthony Miller, and Nikko Remigio were also present. Colts QB Sam Ehlinger is also among those pictured.
Rees-Zammit posted several images on his personal Instagram account from the workout. That includes a photo of him chopping up with QB Patrick Mahomes.
Appearing on The Rugby Pod with Dan Biggar, Rees-Zammit revealed that he heard from Mahomes (and Travis Kelce) shortly after he officially signed with the team.
“Pat [Mahomes] is my best mate now,” Rees-Zammit said in jest. “So yeah, Pat and Travis [Kelce] messaged me, just saying, ‘Welcome to KC.’ If I ever need anything let them know. And yeah, everyone is being so welcoming to me.”
In that same interview, Rees-Zammit revealed that he had already received his Chiefs playbook. Now, he’s getting a chance to work with several of his teammates for the first time in an environment that has produced the best player in the league. Rees-Zammit is really diving into this thing head first as he looks to make the transition from professional rugby to NFL football.
