The last time Tom Brady eyed a potential move to Miami it ended up costing the Dolphins a first-round draft pick, $1.5 million and their owner was suspended. Safe to say that’s not happening again.

Brady to the Dolphins speculation reared its head again over the weekend after Miami quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffered another scary concussion on “Thursday Night Football.” The Fins are set to go forward with backup Skylar Thompson for Week 3’s game against Seattle and they also signed Tyler Huntley to the active roster from the Ravens’ practice squad.

On “Sunday NFL Countdown,” Adam Schefter was asked about the idea of a possible Brady unretirement — which the insider almost immediately shot down. “I know a lot of people suggested Tom Brady, bringing him out of retirement — that’s not gonna happen,” Schefter said.

Brady retired for a second time back in 2022 but admitted back in April that he wouldn’t rule out an NFL comeback if it was the right situation: I’m not opposed to it. I don’t know if they’re going to let me if I become an owner of an NFL team.

But I don’t know if — I don’t know. I’m always going to be in good shape, always be able to throw the ball.

So, to come in for a little bit, like [Michael Jordan] coming back; I don’t know if they would let me, but I wouldn’t be opposed to it. For now, Brady will continue his work with FOX.

He’ll be on the call for next week’s game between the Cowboys and Ravens.
