The Miami Dolphins are still looking to add to their already elite offense before this month’s NFL draft gets underway. According to reports from The Athletic, the AFC East club is eyeing longtime Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tyler Boyd in free agency. Reports also indicate that the San Francisco 49ers, Kansas City Chiefs, and Detroit Lions, among other franchises, are interested in Boyd’s services.

Kansas City could make a full-court press for Boyd after star rookie wide receiver Rashee Rice found himself in trouble earlier this week. On Saturday, Rice was involved in a six-car accident while racing another car.

Boyd will leave the Cincinnati Bengals after eight seasons. The former second-round pick posted back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons in 2018 and 2019, catching 12 touchdowns during that span. Boyd has been a steady contributor to the Bengals his entire career, snagging at least 58 passes every year since 2018. However, he is fresh off a down season in 2023, his age-23 campaign. Boyd had 67 receptions, 667 yards, and two touchdowns, his lowest mark since his second season.

Boyd still flashed his brilliance multiple times last season. The Pittsburgh product had eight catches for 117 yards in a Week 10 loss against the Houston Texans. He also caught all seven of his targets for one touchdown in a win over the Seattle Seahawks early in the season.

The Miami Dolphins scored 29.2 points per game, the second-best average in the NFL. Superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill shined, registering 119 receptions, 1,799 yards, and 13 touchdowns while earning first-team All-Pro honors. Meanwhile, fellow wideout Jaylen Waddle collected 72 catches for 1,014 yards and four scores in 14 games. However, no other receiver eclipsed 300 yards receiving.

Tyler Boyd could add another weapon for quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, especially in three-receiver sets. Miami also brought back punt returner and offensive weapon Braxton Berrios late last month.
