Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill has been dealing with quite a bit lately, with the overwhelming majority of those issues being self-inflicted. From saying he wants out of Miami, to saying everything is cool, to challenging Olympic sprinters to races and offering his opinion on the team’s third-down personnel, Hill has had a loquacious and busy offseason.
The latest problems, however, have been out of his control.
On Wednesday, we heard that Hill was dealing with an undisclosed injury that had kept him out of practice this week. Now, according to Dolphins’ head coach Mike McDaniel, we know that Hill has been dealing with an oblique issue.
“He’s trying to practice,” McDaniel said. “He’s working through an oblique that got worse because he was taking every rep that was on the books.”
McDaniel said it’s an injury due to overuse, but said that Hill still wants to be out there practicing.
“He is trying to sneak his way into taking every rep,” McDaniel said.
Hill’s daughter hospitalized after “scary” incident
Right now, football might be low on Hill’s list of concerns. Last night, Hill’s eight-month-old daughter, Capri, was hospitalized according to his estranged wife Keeta Vaccaro.
Vaccaro provided some details on Instagram Thursday night.
“Last night was scary,” Vaccaro captioned an Instagram post. “Capri started feeling warm, super sleepy, and just not herself. I called @drjaredmiami, and within minutes, he had us straight into the ER with an incredible team waiting for us. Blood work, viral panels, cultures, done swiftly and gently.”
The good news for Hill, Vaccaro and the rest of the family is that Capri seems to be doing much better today.
“So grateful for the kind of care that shows up at late night and gets things handled. She’s doing much better today. Thank you, @drjaredmiami,” Vaccaro added.
Hill and Vaccaro have been split apart since April following a domestic dispute. Us Weekly details what went down:
“Vaccaro filed for divorce on April 9, one day after police were called to their home over a domestic dispute, TMZ reported at the time, citing a police report it had obtained,” Tufayel Ahmed of Us Weekly writes.
“According to the outlet, Vaccaro’s mother called emergency services after she witnessed Hill throw a computer to the floor and “then grab the couple’s baby daughter,” Ahmed continues.
“TMZ reported Vaccaro telling police officers that “she and Tyreek had been arguing lately.” She said that she told her husband “he was not involved enough with their daughter.”
“The “argument never became physical” and no arrests were made, per TMZ.”
Hill hasn’t spoken publicly about his daughter’s health scare as of this writing, but it sounds like there was an awful lot going on at home.
Tyreek Hill won’t practice with Miami Dolphins against the Chicago Bears
On Friday, August 8th, the Dolphins will hold a joint practice session with the Chicago Bears and Hill won’t be participating. It’s not surprising since he hasn’t practiced in team drills all week.
The two teams will battle it out in an all-out, preseasons slugfest on Sunday at 1 P.M. at Soldier Field in Chicago. The winner gets home-field advantage in the World Series.
