**Miami Dolphins Eyeing Key Improvement with Potential Free Agency Move**

The Miami Dolphins have seen a slight uptick in their offensive line performance during the 2024 season, yet there remains room for notable enhancements. The team now finds itself in a prime position to fortify its front line through the acquisition of a seasoned player.

As free agency unfolds, the question looms: Can the Dolphins secure a significant addition to bolster their offensive line? The spotlight turns to veteran interior lineman Dalton Risner, who has emerged as a viable candidate free from the constraints of the compensatory draft pick formula. It’s high time for Chris Grier, the Dolphins’ decision-maker, to initiate negotiations and bring Risner into the fold.

While Risner may not transform Miami’s offensive line into the league’s premier unit overnight, his track record speaks volumes. A reliable starter, Risner has appeared in 73 out of 77 possible games throughout his career. His tenure includes a stretch of unwavering starts across his first four NFL seasons and only a handful of absences last year with the Vikings.

Dalton Risner stands as a logical fit for the Dolphins, offering not only skill but also dependability. His health and consistency through five NFL seasons, missing merely four games, align with Miami’s needs, particularly in solidifying the interior offensive line.

Miami’s offensive line has been plagued by a lack of consistency. Risner’s acquisition would address this by adding depth and talent to the guard position. Although Risner has primarily played right guard—a spot Isaiah Wynn occupied last season—the Dolphins could potentially adapt, filling the gap left by Robert Hunt.

Despite entering free agency without securing a team, Risner has indicated his desire for a contract that reflects his worth while not necessarily chasing the highest bid. His consistent performance, underscored by his 2023 season stats with the Vikings—zero sacks allowed over 745 snaps and only three penalties—makes him an attractive option for the Dolphins. The team passed on interior linemen in the draft, and it appears rookie Patrick Paul isn’t slated for the guard position.

Risner’s potential addition to the Dolphins’ roster offers a promising solution to their line woes. With Chris Grier at the helm, bringing in a seasoned professional like Risner could significantly uplift Miami’s offensive capability from day one. Dolphins’ fans and observers alike should be keen on this potential move, marking a step towards greater offensive line stability and efficiency.
