Tyreek Hill Injured as Trade Rumors Heat Up — Dolphins Shut Down the Noise

August 11, 2025

Tyreek Hill, acclaimed as one of NFL’s blazing talents, has often left opponents in the dust throughout an illustrious career that boasts over 10,000 receiving yards. Yet, a surprising piece of trivia from his time with the Miami Dolphins suggests that he may not be the fastest player on his team.

During an episode of the “All Facts No Brakes” podcast, Robbie Chosen, a former Dolphins wide receiver, disclosed that Jaylen Waddle outpaced Hill in a footrace last season. This revelation, shared somewhat hesitantly as Chosen recalled, “I think he won, I don’t remember,” hints at Waddle’s formidable speed, despite the lack of an emphatic confirmation.

This claim might astonish some but aligns with Waddle’s known speed credentials; while he bypassed the 2021 NFL Combine, his reported 40-yard dash time is a notable 4.37 seconds. This compares impressively close to Hill’s 4.29-second dash, recorded during his Pro Day at West Alabama back in 2016. With Hill now 30, it’s conceivable that the gap between their speeds has narrowed.

Moreover, the Dolphins arguably present the fastest assembly of skill positions in the league, incorporating talents like De’Von Achane, who clocked a 4.32 at last year’s Combine, and a rookie running back who registered a 4.38.

Waddle’s potential edge over Hill could have even spurred the latter’s standout performance last season, culminating in career peaks of 119 receptions for 1,799 yards. Whether or not Waddle’s pace directly inspired Hill, the Dolphins’ rapid roster is assuredly one to watch.
