Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel remained vague about his quarterback options for their upcoming Monday night game against the Tennessee Titans.

While he didn’t rule out Skylar Thompson, who started in place of the injured Tua Tagovailoa last Sunday, Thompson himself suffered a rib injury during that game.

This makes it more likely that either Tim Boyle or Tyler Huntley will be under center for the Dolphins.

Boyle, who was elevated from the practice squad last week, replaced Thompson in the third quarter of their game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Huntley, signed a week ago from the Ravens’ practice squad, was the emergency third quarterback and did not play.

McDaniel acknowledged the “varied uncertainty” at the quarterback position and emphasized the importance of the next 48 hours in determining Thompson’s availability.

He stated that if Thompson is ruled out, the team will make a decision between Boyle and Huntley, emphasizing the need to choose one quarterback and provide stability.

The Dolphins’ offensive struggles were a key talking point.

McDaniel admitted to being surprised by their performance and acknowledged the team’s potential for better results.

He expressed confidence in his play-calling abilities but acknowledged his responsibility for the team’s offensive performance.

The coach also mentioned that general manager Chris Grier is actively exploring options to bolster the quarterback depth.

In addition to the quarterback situation, the Dolphins are also dealing with injuries to key players.

Left tackle Terron Armstead and cornerback Kendall Fuller are in concussion protocol, and their status for the upcoming game remains uncertain.

Tagovailoa, who is currently on injured reserve, is scheduled to meet with neurologists this week as part of his recovery process.
