Los Angeles Lakers took on the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night and delivered a commanding 120-108 victory, led by standout performances from Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves. The win marked the Lakers’ third straight NBA victory and extended their home winning streak to nine games.
Doncic, who continues to establish himself as a key figure in the Lakers‘ offense, spoke postgame about the energy he draws from the Crypto.com Arena crowd, per Spectrum SportsNet.
“You just feel the energy from the crowd,” Doncic said. “When I hit those crazy shots, I know the place is going to erupt. That energy is not just for me—it lifts the whole team.”
He also acknowledged the advantage of playing at home. “It’s always easier to play at home,” Doncic continued. “You have the crowd behind you, and that makes a difference.”

Doncic embracing leadership role in LeBron’s absence
With LeBron James sidelined, Doncic has stepped up as the Lakers’ offensive focal point. His latest performance—31 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists—showcased his ability to lead the team.
“For me, it starts with attacking the basket,” Doncic said. “When I drive, it creates opportunities for everyone on the floor. That was my mindset tonight.” He also discussed adjusting to different defensive looks from opponents.
“It’s not really about strategy—just reading what the defense gives me,” Doncic explained. “At first, they were switching and letting me go one-on-one. I knew at some point they would start doubling, so it was about staying patient and making the right reads.”
Adjusting to life in Los Angeles
After spending nearly seven seasons with the Dallas Mavericks, Doncic is still adapting to his new surroundings following the NBA blockbuster trade that sent him to Los Angeles.
“Dallas was my home for almost seven years,” Doncic reflected. “It really felt like home. Coming here, I’m just trying to build a new one. But every game, I’m getting more comfortable.”
