The Laker guard believes he would have been the franchise leader in three-pointers made in a season if he had never been traded.

The Lakers just made the UNTHINKABLE move—sending LeBron, Bronny, and Knecht to the Heat in a deal that changes everything!

The Los Angeles Lakers are pushing forward as they try their best to escape the dreadful single-elimination play-in.

The Lakers are currently the ninth seed with a month remaining in the regular season. The purple and gold will do their best to get out of there and clinch a top-six seed in the Western Conference. It won’t be easy, but it’ll be possible if the Lakers continue to play good basketball, especially guard D’Angelo Russell.

Russell has been on a tear for the last month and a half, and because of his elite play, he’s closing in on becoming the franchise single-season leader in the three points made.

In a recent interview with the media, Russell spoke about breaking the record and what it would mean to him.

As of March 12, the 28-year-old guard is ten three-pointers away from tying the record and 11 away from breaking it. Lakers guard Nick Van Exel currently holds the 29-year-old record with 183 three-pointers made.

Following Van Exel is the late-great Kobe Bryant, Van Exel again, and Chucky Atkins at fourth.

Russell averages 6.7 three-point attempts and makes 2.8 per game. He’s shooting at a 42.4% clip in the season and is by far the team’s best three-point shooter. The lefty guard will pass the record in no time, and he could do it by as early as Saturday against the Warriors, depending on how he does Wednesday against the Sacramento Kings.

The record is on the lien, and it’s only a matter of ‘when’ rather than ‘if.’ He’s happy to be part of that fantastic list, and we can’t wait for him to break it—in a shorter amount of games played.
