Good luck to opposing defenses playing against the Baltimore Ravens. So far, the only team that’s held them in check offensively has been themselves.

Since their sluggish 0-2 start, the offense has been firing on all cylinders. The team has won seven of its last eight games, putting up an impressive 34.4 points per game during that stretch. The dynamic duo of Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry has been unstoppable, and with receivers Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman emerging as top weapons, this team is looking nearly unbeatable.

Let’s not forget that tight ends Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely have joined the party, along with backup running back Justice Hill. This wealth of offensive talent has elevated Jackson to new heights.

We might just be witnessing the most impressive follow-up to an MVP season the league has ever seen.

It’s been a truly unbelievable season for Jackson. A look at the top ten passer ratings suggests he’s finally hit that next level in his development and quarterbacking.

Lamar Jackson’s ranking in passing yards proves how elite the Raven’s offense is

There is not a single starting QB in the NFL who has a higher passer rating than Jackson:

Rank

Quarterback

Passer rating

1.

Lamar Jackson

123.2

2.

Joe Burrow

108.1

3.

Russell Wilson

105.9

4.

Jared Goff

104.4

5.

Baker Mayfield

103.6

6.

Jalen Hurts

103.4

7.

Justin Herbert

103.2

8.

Derek Carr

102.9

9.

Jayden Daniels

101.8

10.

Kyler Murray

100.8

The naysayers and casuals will undoubtedly claim it’s because he has fewer attempts than traditional quarterbacks or label him a “running back” who doesn’t throw deep. Not only are those assumptions unfair to the two-time MVP – they’re also completely false.

Ironically, Jackson leads all top-10 quarterbacks in passer rating when it comes to yards per attempt, averaging an impressive 9.3 – the only one above nine. And as for attempts? Among the top 10 in passer rating, he ranks third with 288 passes thrown.

So, what are they going to say now?

Jackson is the MVP favorite by a mile. He’s been so impressive this season. He’s on pace to shatter his career highs in yards (3,678) and touchdowns (36). Jackson already has 2,669 yards and 24 touchdowns. The craziest part about his numbers is he’s only thrown two interceptions.

Baltimore’s offense has been an absolute nightmare for opposing defenses. Lamar Jackson was already the most electric player in the league with his dual-threat abilities, but he may very well be its best pocket passer too.

Opposing defenses have a serious problem: Jackson can’t be stopped. With his ongoing development and a loaded arsenal of offensive weapons, there’s no effective way to contain him. Leading the league in passer rating sends a clear message: Jackson is ready to beat teams through the air, not just by relying on his elite athleticism and agility in the run game.

Jackson will put his impressive season to the test this weekend against Russell Wilson and the Pittsburgh Steelers in what could be a playoff-defining game.
