Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s latest concussion hasn’t deterred him from wanting to play again.

Tagovailoa, who sustained another concussion during the game against the Buffalo Bills on Thursday, “has no plans to retire,” according to a report Sunday morning from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Tagovailoa, who has had three diagnosed concussions in the past three seasons, has already started seeing concussion specialists with an eye on returning to the field when the specialists say he is healthy and ready, according to the report.

Tagovailoa, 26, suffered the injury after he scrambled up the middle for a first down and instead of sliding feet first, he barreled in head first late in the fourth quarter. His helmet hit the forearm of Bills safety Damar Hamlin and the quarterback fell and his head hit the turf. He immediately went into a fencing response with his arms and fingers.

Tagovailoa remained on the turf for several minutes while medical trainers attended to him. He eventually was able to get up and walk off the field and into the locker room under his own power.

Tagovailoa suffered multiple concussions during the 2022 season.

He hit the back of his head on the ground during a Week 3 game against the Bills. Looking as if he was concussed, Tagovailoa stumbled on his way back to the Dolphins’ huddle and briefly left the game before he cleared the concussion protocol and returned to the game. Four days later, he was stretchered off the field with a concussion during the game against the Cincinnati Bengals. He had his second confirmed concussion of the season during a Christmas Day game against the Green Bay Packers.
