Here’s a rundown on some of the more prominent cuts:

CB Pepe Williams

Williams entered his third season knowing this would be a crucial summer after playing just one game in 2023 due to an ankle injury. He made some plays in camp, but his fate may have been sealed in the preseason finale when he was beaten for a touchdown and tackled poorly. The Ravens’ deep and versatile secondary made it more difficult to secure a roster spot. Williams could land elsewhere if he is not re-signed to the practice squad.

TE Qadir Ismail

The son of former Ravens wide receiver Qadry Ismail was a feel-good story in camp, trying to make the roster as an undrafted free agent. Ismail, a former college quarterback, made a fluid switch from wide receiver to tight end and showed a willingness to be a physical blocker. He learned quickly, rarely made the same mistakes, and displayed reliable hands. He also proved himself as a willing blocker. Ismail showed he has NFL potential and seeing him land on the practice squad would not be surprising.

QB Devin Leary

The sixth-round pick never found a consistent rhythm during practices or games and threw two interceptions against the Packers in the preseason finale. The Ravens decided to keep just two quarterbacks and waived both Leary and Emory Jones, who outplayed Leary during the preseason. There is a chance Leary could return to the practice squad where the strong-armed quarterback’s development would continue.

WR Dayton Wade

Wade’s case to make the roster was strong, and his double move on a 56-yard touchdown catch against the Falcons was Baltimore’s prettiest scoring play of the preseason. However, Deonte Harty made the roster as the primary returner, Tylan Wallace had another strong preseason, and Devontez Walker is a fourth-round pick with potential. With Zay Flowers, Rashod Bateman, and Nelson Agholor returning as mainstays, the Ravens kept six wideouts, which left Wade on the outside.

WR Anthony Miller

Miller didn’t sign until Aug. 11 but had four catches for 25 yards in two preseason games, along with some strong practices. A former second-round pick by the Chicago Bears in 2018, Miller has 140 career catches for 1,589 yards and 12 touchdowns. The 29-year-old Miller does not have to clear waivers, making him a potential candidate to be signed to the practice squad as a veteran exemption.
