Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson appears to have been slimming down this offseason, heading into OTAs at a very slender 205 pounds after bulking up to over 220 pounds at various points in the last two seasons. Lamar might look more like the spindly rookie out of Louisville in a make-or-break 2024 season.
The Ravens’ quarterback raised some eyebrows with this new look. Jackson isn’t necessarily an injury-prone quarterback, but his running does put him in dangerous situations more than most quarterbacks. Jackson himself doesn’t seem too concerned about his new look, as he values his speed and elusiveness more than his physicality.
Jackson claims to have lost that weight with the intention of being more agile this season. After shedding nearly 30 pounds from his playing weight in 2022 (which was much worse than his MVP 2023 season at 215 pounds), head coach John Harbaugh doesn’t sound too alarmed.
“Lamar’s a pro. He knows what he’s doing, he knows where he wants to be with that,” Harbaugh said. “My concern is that he’s in shape — best shape of his life — and that he’s working toward that, ready football wise, all the details that goes with that.”
