As Tua Tagovailoa makes his return, expectations are high that he can rejuvenate the Miami Dolphins’ AFC playoff aspirations. Yet, in the unpredictable realm of football, nothing is set in stone.

Coach Mike McDaniel’s squad is acutely aware that their path to the postseason is fraught with challenges, particularly with their current 2-4 record leaving no room for missteps. A loss against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 8 could potentially derail their season.

Tyreek Hill Injured as Trade Rumors Heat Up — Dolphins Shut Down the Noise

With the AFC East crown likely out of reach, Miami’s sights are set on snagging a wild-card berth.

Now, let’s imagine a scenario where the Dolphins don’t manage to clinch a win against the Cardinals. This slip could pave the way for the Buffalo Bills to deliver a decisive blow in Week 9. If Miami falters again, General Manager Chris Grier might have to consider some strategic maneuvers – and one of those could involve considering a trade that includes their star wide receiver, Tyreek Hill.

The idea of Hill heading to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is gaining traction, particularly after events unfolded on the recent Monday Night Football. The Buccaneers are in a bit of a bind after a tough defeat to the Baltimore Ravens.

Not only did they lose the game, but they also took a significant hit with wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin succumbing to injuries. Evans could return in a few weeks, but Godwin’s season is over.

Despite these setbacks, Baker Mayfield has been on fire this season, keeping the Buccaneers’ playoff hopes alive. Godwin’s absence is a hard pill to swallow, especially considering his impressive tally of 43 catches for 511 yards and five touchdowns over the first six games. Pairing Tyreek Hill with Evans once he recovers could potentially unleash a formidable threat for Mayfield and the Buccaneers.

If the Dolphins find themselves on the outside looking in when it comes to playoff contention, they might need to explore their options. Tyreek Hill, though a crucial asset, is 30 years old, and trading him could bring in a valuable draft pick for Miami’s future rebuilding efforts.

Hill has, in the past, dismissed trade chatter, yet circumstances could compel the Dolphins to shift their vision towards the future if their current campaign doesn’t turn around.
