Coming off a disappointing end to the 2024 NFL season with a Super Bowl LIX loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce chose not to retire, setting his sights on a fourth championship ring.
On Tuesday, Kelce and the rest of the Chiefs made it to St. Joseph, Missouri, for their 2025 training camp. Over the past two training camps, the 10-time Pro Bowler has sported a healthy mustache without much of a beard to show, keeping the look through the first few games of the regular season.
This year, Kelce changed it up a bit, opting for a full-bearded, long-haired look instead of his “El Travidor” mustache. The Chiefs wasted no time showing off Kelce’s new training camp look on Instagram, posting two photos of the tight end smiling for the camera and a video of him chatting with nearby fans.
“How we doing guys?” he said. “Appreciate you guys coming out today.”
In the spirit of Kelce’s 13th training camp with Kansas City, along with his fresh hairdo, the team elected to give him a new nickname in their caption.
“Training Camp Trav ,” the Chiefs wrote.
During the Chiefs’ media availability on Tuesday, coach Andy Reid had nothing but praise for Kelce as he enters the tail end of his career.
“He’s phenomenal,” Reid said. “He’s been great for this organization. I’ve watched him grow as a player and as a man. We haven’t talked about last years. You hope he plays forever, but that doesn’t happen for any of us.”
Kelce and the Chiefs will fly to Brazil to open the regular season as they face the Los Angeles Chargers on Sept. 5.
