Tyreek Hill Injured as Trade Rumors Heat Up — Dolphins Shut Down the Noise

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill is firmly in quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s corner amid ongoing discussions about the QB’s contract. Recently, Hill expressed his support for Tagovailoa while appearing on SportsCenter, emphasizing that his teammate deserves to be among the highest-paid quarterbacks in the NFL.

“Everybody in the locker room knows it; without Tua, we don’t stand a chance,” Hill stated, advocating for Tagovailoa to secure a substantial contract extension. His playful comment, urging the Dolphins to also “save some room for me,” brought a light-hearted moment to the discussion, drawing laughter from the hosts.

Hill has consistently defended Tagovailoa, often highlighting the unfair criticisms aimed at his quarterback. He pointed out that detractors frequently dismiss Tagovailoa’s achievements, attributing his success to factors like Hill’s own performance or head coach Mike McDaniel’s play-calling, thus undervaluing the quarterback’s capabilities.

Negotiations between Tagovailoa and the Dolphins seem to have hit a standstill, with reports suggesting the team is hesitant to meet his asking price, which is believed to be around the $55 million mark, while the Dolphins are not willing to go beyond $50 million annually.

Hill, who has praised Tagovailoa as one of the most accurate quarterbacks in the league ever since he joined the Dolphins, also has his own financial considerations to think about. With two years remaining on his current contract, Hill is eyeing a new deal, especially as he observes other wide receivers in the league receiving lucrative contracts.

For now, the focus remains on resolving Tagovailoa’s contract situation, which appears to be a priority for the franchise before they move on to other contractual matters, including potentially re-negotiating Hill’s terms.
