After losing to Jaylen Waddle in a recent race, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill believes he’s still the fastest man on his team and said his teammate cheated.

“You want me to set the record straight? The Cheetah is still the fastest, no matter what,” Hill said, per NFL Network’s Eric Edholm. “All I’m gonna say is, on that race Jaylen jumped the count. It was a false start.”

Hill is one of the fastest players in the NFL and clearly takes pride in it, so losing a race isn’t something he will easily accept. Waddle has not yet commented on the matter, but he’d likely argue that he won the race fair and square.

But even after claiming he cheated, Hill showed Waddle some love, including him on the Dolphins’ hypothetical 4×100 meter relay team.

“Well, obviously I’m putting (myself) first, man,” Hill said. “My start is tremendous. Then I’m gonna go with my guy Raheem Mostert at two, Waddle at the three and (De’Von) Achane at the four. Ethan Bonner, that’s my alternate.”

That’s a pretty fast group of runners, though maybe not quick enough to compete in the Olympics. Perhaps fans will get to see some sort of race between NFL players if the league ever brings back the “fastest man” competition.

With the season approaching, Hill and Waddle will look to show off their speed for the Dolphins on the field as they have for the past few years. Waddle is coming off a year where he recorded 1,014 receiving yards and four touchdowns, while Hill led the league in both receiving yards and touchdowns with 1,799 and 13.
