As the 2024 season approaches, Miami Dolphins standout wide receiver Tyreek Hill faces challenges due to a troubling injury. In response, the Dolphins are being particularly cautious with Hill during this preseason period.

Reports from Barry Jackson and Omar Kelly of the Miami Herald indicated that Hill was seen wearing a brace on his right hand during Tuesday’s practice session in Miami, during which he did not participate in catching drills. ESPN’s Cameron Wolfe described Hill’s condition as “minor,” and noted that head coach Mike McDaniel has been proactive in managing the injuries affecting the team.

Tyreek Hill has been absent from the Miami Dolphins’ initial preseason games, and it’s likely he will not play in the preseason at all. As the Dolphins prepare for a joint practice with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before their final preseason game this Friday, they are prioritizing Hill’s health to ensure he’s ready for the regular season when the games really matter for their standings.

The team is focused on building on their recent playoff appearances and aims for a deeper run this year, rather than exiting early as in previous seasons.

In other news, Tyreek Hill’s ongoing verbal sparring with Olympic gold medalist Noah Lyles over who would win a 50-yard dash has to take a backseat. Despite Hill’s eagerness, evident from his recent social media challenge for Lyles to agree to the race, his current right-hand injury means all non-football competitions are off the table for now.

This rivalry caught more attention after Hill claimed on the “Up and Adams” show that he could outpace Lyles, though he admitted it wouldn’t be by a wide margin.

Lyles dismissed Hill’s comments as attention-seeking and dared him to substantiate his accusations. He also cast doubt on Hill’s illness, noting that he tested positive for COVID before securing a bronze medal in the 200-meter event.

Currently, the team is emphasizing the importance of his health over competition.
