Ravens news: Kyle Van Noy confirms interest, Michigan star visits
The Baltimore Ravens not only need to come up with an offer that prevents Jadeveon Clowney from joining another contender in the New York Jets, but they also must concoct an offer that is enticing enough to keep veteran linebacker Kyle Van Noy in town for the title push.
Van Noy, who will turn 33 on Tuesday, recorded nine sacks in what was his best season as a pass rusher, The former BYU stud has made it clear that he isn’t going to take a discount to return to Baltimore, though it looks like both parties are at least working on a possible second act.
Van Noy confirmed himself on Twitter (or X, whichever you prefer) that he and Ravens mastermind Eric DeCosta have spoken about a possible contract for the 2024 season. Getting Van Noy back with or without Clowney would undoubtedly be a major boost for a very young pass rush rotation.
With Odafe Oweh still far from a double-digit sack artist entering his fourth season and David Ojabo not reliable at all due to his unfortunate injury problems, getting Van Noy back would be a priceless move for a young defense. Signing him and Clowney would also help retain all of Baltimore’s top three sackers from last year after the Justin Madubuike extension.

- The Ravens made yet another addition to their defensive back room, signing a contract with backup cornerback and special teams player Ka’Dar Hollman. After two years with the Green Bay Packers in 2019 and 2020, Hollman returned to an active NFL roster and recorded 10 tackles as a member of the Houston Texans.

The Wolverines sent seven offensive linemen to the NFL Draft this season, including starting right tackle Karsen Barnhart. - The Ravens might get beat out by two NFC teams in the chase for Eagles star defensive end Haason Reddick. According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Atlanta Falcons and Arizona Cardinals (the latter of whom is coached by former Eagles DC Jonathan Gannon) are at the head of the pack.
- The New England Patriots didn’t do a very good job of downplaying their intentions with the No. 3 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. New head coach Jerod Mayo said that picking a quarterback at No. 3 is “the priority right now.”
