In the Hunt

  • Mark Andrews
  • Charlie Kolar
  • Isaiah Likely
  • Scotty Washington
  • Mike Rigerman (undrafted rookie)
  • Riley Sharp (undrafted rookie)
  • Pat Ricard

Projected Starters

The Ravens have arguably the best tight end room in the NFL led by Andrews and Likely. Andrews is a three-time Pro Bowler, and Likely starred late last season with Andrews out due to injury. With the rise of Likely, who was stellar during offseason practices, Offensive Coordinator Todd Monken could use more two tight end sets to get his elite pass-catchers on the field together.

Ricard will again be used mainly as a blocker, but now he’ll have Derrick Henry behind him. With Monken taking over the offense last year, there were questions about Ricard’s role. He saw a decrease in reps, playing 39% of offensive snaps after 64% the year prior, but he still has a sizeable role in what the Ravens do.

Best Battle

With the top three tight ends solidified, Washington, Rigerman, and Sharp will battle for spots on the practice squad. Washington has the most experience of the group as he’s on his fourth NFL team while both Sharp (Oregon State) and Rigerman (Findlay) are undrafted rookies.

Under the Radar

During Organized Team Activities and minicamp, Kolar looked impressive as a pass-catcher. He’s the clear No. 3 on the depth chart but will get snaps as a blocker and occasional targets. Kolar’s abilities as an in-line blocker will be most important, and he added muscle this offseason to prepare for the job. Kolar could be a No. 2 on other teams in the league, and it will be interesting to see how much of factor in the pass game he continues to be during training camp.
