Their Organized Team Activities (OTAs) will be held at various intervals from May 20 up to June 6 as Travis Kelce and his team begin to put the first steps in place for their shot at an unprecedented ‘three-peat’.
For Kelce in particular, the dates offer some guidance of when he will be focusing on football ahead of a summer where he is expected to travel around Europe with girlfriend Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour dates.
Players such as Kelce are not always present for each day of the OTAs but last year the tight end spoke to media about ‘attacking them like it’s training camp’ ahead of the new season.
And it was a method that served the Chiefs well, given they went on to win a second straight Super Bowl.
But a year later, Kelce is a truly global name due to his relationship with Swift and she is embarking on a four-month tour of Europe from the beginning of May, starting in Paris.
From there, the 34-year-old singer is playing multiple shows every week.
The two-day Chiefs minicamp from June 11-13 could see Kelce miss Swift playing at Liverpool’s Anfield stadium.
The iconic Premier League team share owners with Boston Red Sox and Swift is playing three nights there from June 13-15. Kelce could theoretically fly over after June 13 and catch one of the latter shows.
Kelce is also hosting his festival, Kelce Jam, in Kansas City on May 18, so he could be inclined to stay in town for the first OTA of the year on May 20.
The NFL season typically starts on the Thursday after Labor Day, which this year is September 5.
It also usually sees the previous year’s Super Bowl winners begin the campaign – last season the Chiefs actually began with a 21-20 loss at Arrowhead Stadium to Detroit Lions and Kelce missed the game hurt.
Swift’s tour of Europe ends on August 20 at London’s Wembley Stadium, so she could be on hand when Kelce and the Chiefs start their shot at history in early September.
It had previously been claimed that Kelce had planned trips to vineyards in Italy with Swift – who plays a weekend in Milan on July 13 and 14 – as well as booking tables at some of Europe’s finest restaurants while she is on tour.
But while it appears inevitable that Kelce will support his girlfriend where he can this summer, it won’t be long until his football commitments are center of attention once again.
When his commitments for last seaosn were over, Kelce headed to Australia and Singapore to see her shows.
The couple were in the Caribbean last weekend, spending time together in the Bahamas.
